Europe is a beautiful place, filled with unique culture. For hundreds of years, Americans have been drawn to Europe for its rich history, fabulous food, scenic beauty, and their fashion. Yes, European fashion has been intriguing to many Americans for many years.

It’s no surprise that European fashion influences those in the United States. After all, some of the largest fashion houses in the world can be found in Paris and London. When it’s time for a designer to show off a new clothing or bag line, they head to Paris. Paris has long been known as the fashion capital of the world and a place for young and budding designers to go to create a name for themselves.

Indeed, French women have some of the best fashion taste in the world. For example, many French women have been seen wearing the “nautical” look as of late. The navy and white striped shirt, with a red accent, and skinny jeans is a very “European” look. But all you have to do is open the pages of the latest Vogue or Glamour and you will see this same look. It seems that American women are just as anxious and the French to adapt this whimsical and casual look into their daily wardrobes.

Let’s move across the pond to London for a moment. Americans are just as intrigued with the fashions that come out of England as they are with those from Paris. It’s no surprise that the Royal Family has long been a source to look to for fashion advice. Princess Diana became an icon for her daring fashion and the trend continues today with the future Princess Kathryn. Many young American girls are quickly copying Kate’s classic style of big hats and structured coats.

European culture and style influences American fashion in many ways. If you look around, you’ll see many European influences in the design world.
