With Prada’s plexiglass chain necklaces and Oscar de la Renta’s gold plated bangles, one might be excused for thinking you have stepped back in time.  While fashion is muted for the day and bolder    by night,  jewelry is set to be bright, fresh and minimal.

Daytime neutrals consist of white, beige and shades of lemon, while night time sees the brighter hues of coral, turquoise and yellow. Both day and night, the lines are sleek and sophisticated with the shift dress and blazer being dominant.

Roberto Coin‘s  “Gold Bold Fashion Ring” is the perfect accessory to the simple unadorned lines of this season’s latest fashions. Set in 18 caret rose gold, this lemon quartz surrounded by mother of pearl ring is both modern and chic.   Diamonds will always be a girl’s best friend but this year sees simpler designs and a more classical elegance.  My personal favorite for the new season is Robert Coin’s “cento” ring. Exquisitely crafted out of white and yellow gold, it has the flawless diamond of 100 facets which is where it gets it name from. (cento is Italian for one hundred)

Whether one chooses to wear the high priced designer outfits or not, one thing is certain.  The spring season in 2011 will allow us to show off timeless elegance with simple lines and classic jewelry.  Color is bold and electric for parties, but warm and comfortable for work. The best of both worlds finally merge into one this season.

When it comes to a perennial fashion icon and inspirational singer, they don’t get any brighter than Beyonce Knowles. The inspiration for the house House of Dereon has been attributed to Beyonce’s grandmother Agnez Dereon. These three generations of independent women have each brought a flavor to the House of Dereon. All you need to do is breakdown their tagline “Couture. Kick. Soul” to understand. Mrs. Dereon was considered to be the heart and soul of the line. Tina knows all about couture culture while Beyonce provides the spice of the kick. You can look at the early performances of Destiny’s Child as the foundation for Dereon. Tina designed all the group’s outfits.

Today’s lineup for the House of Dereon incorporates comfy casual wear like sweatpants and embroidered hoodies both emblazoned with the distinct Dereon logo. There is also a “club line” of clothes that infuses hip-hop culture with bold splashes of high fashion like mixing denim with ruffles. Staying one step ahead of current trends, Beyonce and Tina have put together a new collection of vintage dresses. These outfits that take a page from the 50’s style that Beyonce sported for her starring turn as Etta James in the feature “Cadillac Records.” It’s a safe bet that if you see Beyonce turning up on the red carpet or at an awards show, she’ll be wearing one of her own creations.
